At Marakame we work with innovative Wixárika artists who, on this occasion, have created a circle using the bead technique. In any case, addressing the narrative of their traditional custom through the most representative symbolism of their worldview.

In this nierika, a circular painting that symbolizes the cycle of life and connection with nature, peyote symbols are found around the circumference. Within this circumference, intricate patterns are developed that represent symbolic figures important to Wixárika culture: the sun, birds in flight, floral forms, servants, or corn.

The piece is designed in various shades of blue colors that reflect the richness and depth of Huichol art. Each pattern and symbolic figure has a specific meaning within the Wixárika tradition, and together they create a unique work of art that honors Zapotec culture and cosmology.
