Innovations frequently occur in small details: the elongated shape of the pot, its volumetric symmetry, the top of the mouth, and some holes that do not escape symbolism. This work contains in the upper part an entrance in the shape of a “T” that can be seen in the archaeological zone of Paquimé. It is a marvel of creativity.

  • Jesús Octavio Silveira (Mata Ortiz, 1977) learned the craft of pottery from his mother and father, quickly standing out for his dedication, high quality, and the integration of the Quezada and Porvenir styles in his pieces. He has been recognized on numerous occasions in the Annual Ceramic Contest in Mata Ortiz, standing out in the “Award of Excellence” category in 2019. Through the Casa de las Artesanías, he was commissioned by the Government of the State of Chihuahua to produce a ceramic piece for Pope Francis during his visit to Mexico in 2016, a work he made in collaboration with Griselda Ortiz Martínez.
