  • "Shells" is a sculpture that encapsulates the passage of time and the accumulation of layers as a visual metaphor for transformation and resilience. Taro Tokuyama uses materials that mimic organic textures to recreate undulating forms evoking seashells or structures eroded by the natural environment.

The piece features a play of dark tones, with finishes that simulate natural aging, highlighting the interaction between the organic and the industrial. The curved and repetitive shapes suggest a contained dynamism, as if the piece were caught in a continuous process of change and evolution.

"Shells" reflects Tokuyama's ability to reinterpret the forms of nature and transform them into visual narratives that invite the viewer to reflect on the connection between time, natural elements and human intervention.
