This life-size Huichol deer bust is a unique work, crafted with more than 350,000 calibrated glass beads, handcrafted in the Czech Republic, individually on fiberglass. The black, steel, and aluminum tones give it a contemporary feel, but its essence is deeply spiritual.

According to the mara'akame who shared its meaning with us, the black deer represents the "Tutekwiyu" and is linked to the Tseriekame ceremonial center. This piece carries the medicine and special energy of the black deer, which in the Wixárika worldview is a messenger of spiritual strength for those who relate to its spirit.

Created by visionary Wixárika art teacher Ramona de la Cruz of Tatei Kié and commissioned by Arte Marakame, this work fuses the traditional with the modern, honoring Wixárika heritage in every handmade detail.
