  • "Xapawiyemari" is a unique collaboration between sculptor César Orrico and the Marakame Art Studio, which was commissioned to Wixárika artist Luis de la Cruz for the intervention in micro glass beads. The work fuses contemporary sculpture with the ancestral tradition of Huichol art, using glass beads to create sacred and geometric patterns that surround the head of Gea. This piece symbolizes the connection between humanity and the earth, representing Gea, mother of nature, with a ceremonial halo of wisdom and spirituality.

The meticulous beadwork reflects symbols of the Wixárika worldview, such as flowers, stars and natural elements, transmitting protection and harmony. The artisanal intervention transforms the sculpture into a work that honors both contemporary technique and indigenous traditions, elevating it to a level of spirituality and timeless beauty.
