Eternal Rest by Jacobo and Maria Angeles.

To the opposite side of the river, it moves the tail of taste, pointed ears, brown canid, the goddess of sunset, the evening star of darkness, the underworld and death. On the earthly plane faithful consecrated dog, friend and companion of man, between the living and the dead - Xoloitzcuintle - who fled and hid among the cornfields when the sun and the moon just appeared in the sky, shares the continuous path in the search for the eternal rest of your soul and in the descent to the underworld, who that affable traveler, in your trip - Orejas - tributary to the river bank awaits you to cross the mighty currents, leaving behind the diaphanous wanderers that combine with the wind along with the lord of the sunset, without ever starting his journey.

Affable masters of Xoloitzcuintles, Jacobo and María Angeles, who start from an ancient tradition and the bond with these superlative beings, share a set of sculptures that provide well-defined loins, trunks and ears, contemplating the subjectivity of art in each line and stroke in black and white, at the end of a brownish color, not being a coincidence to tie his neck in carats and outline imposing postures of the ancient being - imperial being - Eternal Rest remote confined to the offering to these beings of intelligence and magnificent personality who share the continuous path to save your soul in the spirit world, earthly and in the underworld.

        Quoting Jacobo Angeles:

"This year we had the opportunity to create a new proposal called "Eternal Rest", it is in honor of the Day of the Dead and the altars. This year we dedicated it to the ears of a Xoloitzcuintle dog that helped us for many years to bring happiness to the family. This year she died and in honor of that beautiful dog that is number 10 of the Zapotec calendar, which means good friend, good hope, good help, it is a name with a strong character and enemy of injustice. We made these 3 in their different ways of making the xoloitzuintles. For example, we made the human skull with the body of a xoloitzcuintle because we think that it is the animal that helps you spiritually rest in the underworld. In religion they think that it is the one that crosses the Jordan River and for the Zapotecs it is on the Day of the Dead."
