This piece, specially commissioned by Arte Marakame, features a color palette designed to evoke the nocturnal and visionary universe that permeates much of Oaxacan artistic tradition. On the opossum's body, color and geometry create a vibrant surface where each figure seems to emerge from the darkness.

Its visual language reinterprets and draws upon motifs inspired by the iconography of Monte Albán and the ancient Zapotec world, the cultural territory where the work was created. Geometric patterns, fretwork, and ancestral symbols intertwine with the figure of the mother and her offspring, establishing a dialogue between memory, nature, and lineage.

The result is an exceptional piece: a contemporary alebrije in which the sculptural tradition of Oaxaca meets a nocturnal vision, symbolic and deeply rooted in its territory.
