In this piece, the artist presents himself as a reflection in transformation: the face, stripped of features, becomes an interior landscape where matter and identity intertwine. The organic texture of the bamboo, along with the transparencies of the Japanese lacquer, suggests a process of metamorphosis in which the human dissolves into the natural. The portrait ceases to be a representation and becomes a presence: an echo of the being observing its own mystery.
