This work by Tavo Silveira unfolds through a continuous visual journey that envelops the form of the ceramic body, guiding the gaze toward a symbolic center. The geometric lines, executed with extreme precision, evoke ritual paths, cardinal directions, and ceremonial maps where every stroke is intentional and balanced.
The contrast between the white background and the black and reddish tones reinforces the depth of the design, creating a sense of constant movement and ancestral order. Its silhouette, elevated on a pedestal, lends it a sculptural presence, making it a piece that engages in a dialogue between tradition, abstraction, and contemporary contemplation.

  • Jesús Octavio Silveira (Mata Ortiz, 1977) learned the craft of pottery from his mother and father, quickly standing out for his dedication, high quality, and the integration of the Quezada and Porvenir styles in his pieces. He has been recognized on numerous occasions in the Annual Ceramic Contest in Mata Ortiz, standing out in the “Award of Excellence” category in 2019. Through the Casa de las Artesanías, he was commissioned by the Government of the State of Chihuahua to produce a ceramic piece for Pope Francis during his visit to Mexico in 2016, a work he made in collaboration with Griselda Ortiz Martínez.
