  • Disk of Times III is a work by Taro Tokuyama that encapsulates the passage of time in an object suspended between materiality and memory. Using mixed media, the artist creates a small disk with accumulated layers of color, forming a microcosm of textures and tones that suggest a continuous process of sedimentation and transformation.

The centre of the composition features an intense red stain that contrasts with the delicate transparency of the material, evoking the permanence of certain moments in the flow of time. The white frame and clear background reinforce the feeling of isolation and contemplation, inviting the viewer to reflect on the transience and permanence of the human experience.

This piece, of a minimalist and conceptual character, becomes a tangible symbol of the accumulation of moments and the way they are imprinted on our perception.
