Commissioned by Arte Marakame and created by Sergio Bautista, mara'akame of Tatei Kie in the Sierra Madre of Jalisco, Yumutame is more than a sculpture: it is a portal to the Wixárika worldview. A sculpture covered in hundreds of thousands of crystal beads, placed with an almost sacred precision, giving life to the symbols that narrate the ancestral connection between the Wixaritari and the universe.

The bison, spiritual guardian of many North American peoples, becomes in this case a messenger of the Wixárika vision, where geometric patterns, the eyes of God and the hikuri paths weave a story of protection, strength and balance with nature.

This work is a testimony to the artistic mastery of its creator, who, in each bead, deposits visions resulting from the practice of his Wixárika custom, transmitting the knowledge of generations. Yumutame is not only a piece of art, but a being that breathes, observes and protects, carrying with it the soul of a living tradition.
