In this work, Wixárika master Arturo Carrillo, originally from Tatei Kie, presents a contemporary and deeply personal interpretation of the Wixárika worldview through the yarn painting technique. At the center of the composition emerges the hikuri, or sacred peyote, sprouting from a ceremonial gourd, a symbol of the origin of vision, offering, and spiritual knowledge.

The scene is accompanied by the presence of the coyote, a figure associated with wisdom, adaptation and connection with the natural world; the ceremonial feather, an instrument of communication and blessing within the ritual practice; the corn, foundation of life and cultural continuity; and the ceremonial candle, representation of consciousness, the offering and spiritual presence.

Through dynamic forms and an extraordinary chromatic sensitivity, Arturo Carrillo constructs a space where symbols do not appear isolated, but interconnected as part of a single ceremonial narrative. His artistic approach, absolutely unique and innovative within contemporary Wixárika art, transforms yarn painting into a visual language capable of expressing spiritual experience, ancestral memory, and the sacred worldview.
