At the heart of the Wixarika worldview, the flood is not just a catastrophic event, but a rebirth, a purification of the world. This 160 cm diameter masterpiece, woven with fine thread on wood, captures in meticulous detail that sacred moment when Hiwi, the first human, is rescued by Takutsi Nakawé, the creator goddess.

On a sacred raft, Hiwi is not alone. He is accompanied by a faithful dog, a guide of souls and guardian between worlds, while around him the guardian spirits of his people are displayed: celestial eagles, ancestors in the form of deer and the enigmatic Kauyumari, the blue deer, manifestation of the spirit of peyote and messenger of the gods.

At the top, a stern-faced old man emerges from the clouds, perhaps the god of the wind, the father of rain, whose storms dance between snakes and lightning. In the depths, marine life swirls in whirlpools of color and mystery: fish, octopuses and mythological creatures that connect the essence of water with the destiny of man.

Each thread of this piece is a whisper of the ancestral history of the Wixaritari. Each color, a prayer woven with infinite patience. For a year, artists Haiviya and Yulama brought this vision to life, not only as a work of art, but as a portal to a world where time is cyclical and the divine intertwines with the human.
