  • Putu Wirantawan, born in West Bali, Indonesia, in 1972, relies on the interaction between his conscious and subconscious mind, allowing him to create authentic and non-preconceived works. Working primarily with pencil and pen on paper, occasionally enhanced with color, his art is inspired by surrealism and abstraction, and arises from the observation of natural elements. For him, drawing is a therapeutic process that revitalizes his creative spirit.

Wirantawan's work, although modern, resonates with the Balinese Hindu philosophical perspective and is characterized by sacred geometry, where harmonious lines create symbols that impact the subconscious. Circles, representing the perfection of nature, are recurring in his work, reflecting cyclical patterns of life. His art contrasts dualities of light and dark, creating depth and dimension in surreal forms.

Throughout his career, Wirantawan has been recognized with multiple awards and accolades, standing out in important exhibitions. His 2015 solo exhibition, "Blissful Line", in Ubud, showcased for the first time installations of his artistically complex works, establishing him as a dynamic artist in contemporary Balinese art, with a unique style that captivates with the beauty of he.
