The contemporary interpretation of the ancient traditions of Paquimé has been carried out in two ways: through knowledge of anthropological publications that document graphic styles, and through direct observation of ancient pots and their relationship with nature.
In this work, Silveira makes a beautiful recognition of that powerful being that is the eagle.

  • Jesús Octavio Silveira (Mata Ortiz, 1977) learned the craft of pottery from his mother and father, quickly standing out for his dedication, high quality, and the integration of the Quezada and Porvenir styles in his pieces. He has been recognized on numerous occasions in the Annual Ceramic Contest in Mata Ortiz, standing out in the “Award of Excellence” category in 2019. Through the Casa de las Artesanías, he was commissioned by the Government of the State of Chihuahua to produce a ceramic piece for Pope Francis during his visit to Mexico in 2016, a work he made in collaboration with Griselda Ortiz Martínez.
