Since 2017 we have been personally directing the process of Zapotec figures whose original name is “tonas” or “nahuales”.

This Alebrije is a unique artistic piece that combines the tradition of Mexican alebrijes with Zapotec symbolism. The alebrije has a bright yellow color, which is highlighted by the presence of red Zapotec symbols that run throughout the body.

The hind leg of the alebrije is decorated with red geometry, adding a touch of energy and vitality to the piece. A white circle with a red perimeter and red center in the middle of the body is an interesting element that suggests a balance between light and dark. The green and yellow spiral that runs around the neck of the alebrije is a special touch that adds mobility and life to the piece. The golden yellow horns are a unique and fascinating feature of this alebrije.

The most interesting part of this alebrije is its face, which combines the features of a man with the characteristics of an animal, in this case the deer. The human hand and foot are also an interesting element that suggests the nahual's ability to walk between two worlds.
